Madagascar

Families with a taste for light adventure in very different setting, can enjoy wonderful holidays in Madagascar. Typically we recommend a combination of reserves where terrain is easy to negotiate and wildlife viewing prolific, with time spent at a family friendly property at the coast. Because Madagascar is a malarial area and it has a modest infrastructure, it is more suited for children older than 5.

Madagascar is over twice the size of Britain and the landscapes are both diverse and spectacular, with mountains, semi desert, forests, canyons, tsingy and dazzling beaches fringing the Indian Ocean.

On land Madagascar is legendary for the profusion of its wildlife and flora, 80 per cent of which is unique to the island. Off shore the coral reefs, teeming with reef and big game fish will appeal to those keen on diving and snorkelling.

There is a choice of accommodation to suit any family holiday itinerary, from luxury rainforest lodges, simple guest houses through to exclusive beach retreats.
